July 3rd, 2009 Posted in 123 Triad

Icelandic Farm Holidays is a chain of nearly 140 farmhouses, with total of 4000 beds around the country. The members are farmers who offer accommodation to travellers in their homes, guesthouses, country-hotels and cottages. The association was founded in 1980 and from 1990 Icelandic Farm Holidays has been a fully licensed Tour operator and a Travel agent owned by the farmers.

Icelandic Farm Holidays is therefore not only the central booking office for the farmhouses but also a booking office for all accommodation and activity you can find in Iceland. The accommodation is diverse; made up beds in four different categories, with shared or private facilities, sleeping bag accommodation, cottages and camping. Their farms also offer various activities such as; horse riding, fishing, hunting, golf, etc. For people who choose to be independent in their travels they offer self-drive packages for summer and winter - rental car and farm accommodation.
